Rick Thorne, his band Good Guys in Black and the Monster Army recently stopped by The Flow Skatepark for an all out jam session style contest and concert. There were a lot of skaters and bmxers that showed up to try and take home the first place prize of a one year sponsorship with Monster Energy.

Congrats to Kyle Decot for taking first place and pulling some really big tricks including a huge nose-pick on the railing of the eight foot quarter. We’ll try and get some photos posted soon!

Harrison Lucas Benefit

We will be donating a deck for Harrison Lucas’ benefit and hope that many of you will support him by attending the event and bidding on the deck as well as the other items they will have. Details on his benefit, as well as his story are provided below. Everyone here at Affinity Skateboards would like to wish Harrison a speedy recovery.

Benefit

Friends and family of Harrison Lucas, please join us in offering support to help offset the medical expenses that the Staats Family will occur in providing his care and recovery.

The Benefit will be held at Kingy’s Pizza on Hill Rd in Pickerington on October 5th from Noon til 4pm. There will be a cost of $10 per person to cover the cost of food(buffet-style meal)…we will also have a 50/50 drawing, silent auction, bake sale, and t-shirts for sale.

Also if you are planning to attend please RSVP so we can approximate the number of attendees. Harrison’s Story

Harrison was struck by a vehicle while crossing Hill Rd N (Rt 256) in Pickerington. He was having a great Sunday afternoon – hanging out with his friends at the pool & goofing off.

Harrison, along with two friends left the pool to get some lunch at the new Sonic (which he loves) across the street from The Swim Club. Thankfully, Harrison’s friends were not injured.

After two months and two days at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Harrison was able to be transported via medical airplane to Chicago for rehabilitation. One August 19th, the second chapter in Harrison’s recovery began. Thank you for your prayers & support, as Harrison Recovers.

Back From Woodward

Hey guys! Its Jay and i just got back from 3 weeks of woodward. Im glad to be home even though i had a blast a learned tons of new tricks. I didnt do much filming but i plan to take what i learned to the street. I am gonna start posting footage on here so check back.

Anyways check out woodward its a great time and you can meet tons of new people and learn alot. And they are always adding new things.

New Verde Cadet

I finally decided to get a bike and I decided on the Verde Cadet. I bought it at The Flow Skatepark the other day, and I must say that I absolutely love it. I’ve been cruising around on it. Having rode a skateboard for almost 9 years and rarely touching a bike during that time, it took a little time to get used to. Since buying it however, I think that I’ve actually rode it the least out of anyone. Anytime I set it down, someone wants to “ride it really quick”, which ends up turning into an hour long session. I don’t mind though, because I just ride my board(which I really should be doing anyways since Dew Tour is quickly approaching).

I would highly recommend this bike to anyone that is considering a new brakeless bike.
