Harrison Lucas Benefit

We will be donating a deck for Harrison Lucas’ benefit and hope that many of you will support him by attending the event and bidding on the deck as well as the other items they will have. Details on his benefit, as well as his story are provided below. Everyone here at Affinity Skateboards would like to wish Harrison a speedy recovery.

Friends and family of Harrison Lucas, please join us in offering support to help offset the medical expenses that the Staats Family will occur in providing his care and recovery.

The Benefit will be held at Kingy’s Pizza on Hill Rd in Pickerington on October 5th from Noon til 4pm. There will be a cost of $10 per person to cover the cost of food(buffet-style meal)…we will also have a 50/50 drawing, silent auction, bake sale, and t-shirts for sale.

If anyone would like to donate baked goods for items for the auction please email Jakie Katz at jak7305@me.com or call at 614-507-4450. Thank you for your time and support for Harrison, Colleen, Spencer, Robert, and the rest of the Staats Family.

Harrison’s Story

Harrison was struck by a vehicle while crossing Hill Rd N (Rt 256) in Pickerington. He was having a great Sunday afternoon – hanging out with his friends at the pool & goofing off.

Harrison, along with two friends left the pool to get some lunch at the new Sonic (which he loves) across the street from The Swim Club. Thankfully, Harrison’s friends were not injured.

After two months and two days at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Harrison was able to be transported via medical airplane to Chicago for rehabilitation. One August 19th, the second chapter in Harrison’s recovery began. Thank you for your prayers  & support, as Harrison Recovers.

The Flow Skatepark Lock-in

The Flow Skatepark’s first ever Lock-in was yesterday and I must say that it was a blast. Free pizza, great skating and of course let’s not forget the ton’s of free Red Bull.

I arrived at The Flow around 4:30 PM to help out Shannon and James with getting everything prepared. The Lock-in didn’t start until aroud 10:30pm but this was still not enough time to get everything organized. Sweeping the floors, cleaning the bathrooms and ordering the more than 30 pizzas were just a few of the items on the list.

When it was finally time to open, I took it upon myself to be in charge of accepting the money and giving out helmets(which were in short supply and were quickly gone). Loads of people began to pour in immediately, and continued to do so for well over an hour.

After a couple of hours of accepting money, giving out change, handing out candy and drinks, and even gripping a deck or two, I decided to go out and check out what was going on in the park. There was so much going on all at once, it was kind of like being at a contest where everyone’s trying to get as many runs in as possible. Devon got a ton of photos from the event and I’ve included a vast majority of them below. The Flow is planning another Lock-in in the near future, so if you didn’t make it out for the first one, be sure not to miss the next one. I’ll be sure to post the details when I find out more from The Flow.
